About

Akshay Sura

Co-founder and partner at Konabos Inc., based in Temecula, California. Ten-time Sitecore MVP and two-time Kontent.ai MVP.

I have been building software professionally since 1999, focused on content management systems and digital experience platforms. I started working with Sitecore in 2007 on version 5.3, and most of my career since has been spent architecting, developing, and shipping enterprise solutions on the platform.

My work now spans composable and headless architecture, platform modernization, enterprise search, integrations, cloud delivery, and building with AI. I use AI coding tools like Claude every day, and I conceived, architected, and built BlinkAI, an AI-native tool that automates large parts of DXP migrations. I care as much about developer experience and community as I do about the code itself.

I am a co-founder and partner at Konabos Inc., where we try to live three simple values every day: be kind, be fair, and keep exploring.

Community has been a large part of my career. I started the Sitecore Slack community, now more than 10,000 developers, and I still help run it. I founded the Sitecore Hackathon in 2014 and still run it, and I built a second community, the Digital Experience Community. I co-founded SUGCON North America and SUGCON India, helped start Unofficial Sitecore Training, and built SiteCron, an open-source scheduling module now in its second decade with more than 476,000 downloads. I also hold a US patent.

This site is where I keep the archive of what I have written and built, first person, for other developers.

What I live by

Be kind

Meet people where they are. Generous with credit, patient with questions.

Be fair

Do right by clients, teammates, and the community, even when it is the harder call.

Keep exploring

Stay curious. New platforms, new tools, new problems worth solving.
