I have only been working with Octopus Deploy for a year but its one of my favorite tools. We depend on it for our end to end 100% automated deployments to all of our environments. The trick is to set it up properly in the first place. I was able to get some guidance from Kamruz Jaman when I got started and that helped me immensely to understand Octopus Deploy.

Recently I had to re-tool our Continuous Integration and Deployment environments due to a Sitecore Helix based solution. As part of that process I ended up using Octopus Deploy for the first time and I love it. I do not know how I did not use it before. I will have an upcoming blog post on how I setup our Octopus Deploy environment.

“Helix is a set of overall design principles and conventions for Sitecore development.” Like other architectures and design principles, Helix also has pros and cons.
